Our GP’s will carry out Home Visits, but these are only for patients who are truly housebound, i.e. patients whose condition prevents them from being able to attend surgery. In almost all cases children can be safely brought in to the Practice where we have the most appropriate conditions and equipment for examination.
If you need a home visit, we ask that you contact us as early as possible in the morning, preferably before 10.30am.
You may be asked to provide the Reception team with some details regarding why you require a home visit. Please do not be offended by this. They need this information so that the doctor can assess the urgency of the visit. In addition, the doctor may call you to discuss your visit request. Again, this is to assess the urgency of the visit.
You can be visited at home by a community nurse if you are referred by your GP. You should also be visited at home by a health visitor if you have recently had a baby or if you are newly registered with a GP and have a child under five years.
